I spent 2 days last week with the similar problem. The last thing I did is run a wire from the back of the taillight assy. where the harness clips over it, straight to a good ground. That fixed the problem I had. My specifics were: no taillights, no brake lights, and when I used turn signals I had taillights. The front harness and lights were great and needed no attention. I lost the ground because the weekend prior I was following a lifted 4x4 with my stock 2wd were I shouldn't have been. (it was fun though) I smacked my tow package about 7 or maby a good 10 times and somehow lost the ground back there. lol These guys helped me out a lot and if I knew how to post a link to my thread here I would. It may be about 8 or 9 pages back. I hope you get yours soon.

Do you mean your brake lights don't work? You state that the tail lights work when the head lights are on. If so it could be the brake light switch under your dash is not making a good conection. In this case the tail lights will work and the turn signals will work but you will not have tail lights. Hope this helps, Joker69

I would go with the ground. I had similar problem push brake pedal and the turn signal would stop flashing, turn on lights and rear were dim. I ran a ground strap (6gauge I had laying around) from the center of the bed cross member, back by the bumper (hole already) there to the frame about six inches back from the bumper on the drivers side (hole aready there) problem solved.
