Brake help again please?

Hey guys,i got the wireing done and all of the lights are working now.Had a bad caliper on the drivers side,got a new one today and put it on.Now my trouble is when i was trying to bleed the brakes the rod that goes from the pedel to the booster just snapped.This is really starting to suck!!What i would like to know is,will a rob from a different year work?I have 2 from a 84 blaze and a 86 burb,would anyone happen to know it they would replace the one on the 72?If not where can i find one?Thanx guys.......James

im pretty sure the rod is different on the newer trucks
