lif thelp needed
I only see kits for 67-72 blazers that are4 inch.Why not bigger?I am newbie to the blazer so please help me understand.I have a friend with 78 8inch lift front springs i can have for free.Will they work?Do they make steering correction stuff for such a big lift?Any web sites or tech write ups greatly appreciated and thanks for you're help.

First, welcome to the board! Take some time and fill out your profile so we know where you are located. Ya never know if someone on the board is just down the street from you with the parts or help you need. Post some details and pics of your truck when you get a chance too.
You may have to call the companies to see what they have. There are 6 and 8 inch kits available, the 8 might be hard to find. You may posibly consider a 4" or 6" kit with a body lift. The springs on the 78 are longer. You could modify your truck to get them to work, but it would probably be easier to find the right kit. There are extended steering arms, pitman arms and cross-over kits available. The cross over kits will require some custom fabrication but will do the most good for eliminating bump steer. How big a tire are you going with? Although there are guys on the board running big tires on the 1/2 ton gear, most people won't recommend going bigger than 35's without swapping in 3/4 or one ton axles. It mostly depends on how much 4 wheeling you do and what the terrain is like. I believe coloradok5.com has a write up on cross-over steering (on a later model Blazer). They have seveal other nice write ups too.
