If anyone has a stock 307 rear end with a 400 turbo tranny, do you know which tooth count speedo gear and tooth count drive gear that you have in the tranny? The color of the gears will tell me. Reason I am asking is that I am having a helluva time getting the right one and the tranny shops around here are not very helpful.

Go here and type in your tire size (Ex. 31" tall) and your rear end gears and bam, it tells you which driven and drive gears you need.

Thats exactly what I needed this morning. Tranny guy called and said that there is a 17 tooth in there now and he is getting a different sleeve and a 32 tooth to go in it which will fix the problem. Thanks again Robert

Go to the GM dealer and have them dig out one of the parts books for an early to mid 80s truck. They need to go to the transmission section. There is about two whole pages that give all of the gear ratios (drive and driven gears) and the colors of the gears for just about all tranny setups and rear end gear ratios. Have the dealer copy the pages, and enjoy.

No problem. The Chevy dealer should have any of the gears you need in stock.
