e-locker / air locker question

Are any of you guys/gals running these up front on a older spice/dana 44 I have a locker out back now but could use the extra traction from time to time. If so tell me what you like about it. where ya got it and cost if you don't mind. If some one has one laying around I am in the market. i had a posi up front in the past it was hell driving on the back roads (lots of corners not good) so I took it out. would be nice to turn it on/ off when needed only.

Except for the ARB air locker, I think you may need to ask by the exact brand and model to get better responses.

The best, and not coincidentally, most expensive D44 locker is the TracTech Electrac. It's basically a TruTrac that locks fully via an electric actuator. When unlocked, the unit functions as a smooth TruTrac all-gear limited slip that is steering-neutral-safe for slippery roads. Read the reviews for yourself:

I apologize to your wallet in advance.

If you install a front locker in your OEM front D44 axle, you'll need to upgrade the inner axles to 297 u-joint cross axles with full-circle, cross-retention clips. The small 267 joint stock axles won't handle the stress. Even Gm upgraded front D44s to 297 joint inners/outers in '73. '73-up 1010 axles fit 67-72 D44s, but 4340 is the way to go.
