1967 vent wing window fit only 67?

Looking for 1967 vent wing window but can't find any, what is the difference between 1967 & 1968 as part places say can only use the one for 1967 but of course they don't have it, does any one have pictures of both so can compare them? Thanks

Welcome to the place from Missouri

As far as I know they are all interchangable except maybe 72,not sure about it.The ones in my 67 look just like the ones in my 71.

I think they are the same size and shape glass. The difference is in the latch. The '68--'72s have a 1/2" hole in them for the latch to pivot in. The '67s have a metal pivot inside that comes up from the vent wing frame. The latch handles are different too. Don't know who carries them anymore. Good luck.

I can help you out exactly....the wing windows in my all original 67 were shot! my grandpa had a rusty old '72 custom with excellent vent windows....chrome and weatherstripping were in great shape. This was about 6 years ago, but I don't remember doing ANY modifications....they fit right in, but I'm not sure if your asking about the glass or the assembly. I changed the entire assembly, which is easy to do, and they worked great. Now, they do LOOK different, but the assemblies are the exact same size. From what I remember I think that the arms on the 67 were smaller...I like the look of the '72's better. I also added the custom scrolled door panels to my truck....'67 had the best nose and '72 had the best interior...

The metal frame around the wing glass on a 67 has a hump where the handle attaches. The stud that the handle fits onto is a larger diameter and the handle is a fancy shape with lines on it. It was carried over from the 66 body style. The 68-72 wing glass metal frame is thin all the way around the glass. The stud for the handle is basicly a smooth headed bolt that passes through the glass. I installed a set of wing glasses from a 71 in to my 67 bolted right in. I thought that I would put the 67 handles back on but the hole in the handles was to big to fit on the stud.
