There is a good series of junk yards in the Lynnewood to Everett area, a couple of Pull-A-Parts, (any tranny $60, any bucket seat $14, etc), have not seen a good speed shop, but pretty good car lot with nothing but classics in Lynnewood at about 180th.

I've been in that junkyard on Aurora 99N. I got a good door and gas tank there. Maybe I was lucky there were about 3 C10-20s there at the time. I only go to pull-yer-own parts places. The others rip you off IMO. Another place the guy, within a months time, quoted me 3 diff. prices on the same part from his so-called computerized system.

Pukk a Part in Everett and Lynnewod gets everything, but it's first come, etc. I put 200R4 in my panel, went thru 3 before I got a good one, (30 day exchange). In past year, have missed out on 4 of 5 camaro T-5's and a couple of 4.3 S-10 ones, most are 4spds in trucks, will probably grab the next t-5, bribes have worked in past.
Lots of auto auctions too, cop forced impounds bought my 68 for $175 with strong 350, 82 camaro 305 with broke windshield and slipping tranny for $50, sold for $1200, 84 monte carlo 305 real clean for $75, porsche 924 with bent axle for $60. Lincoln towing and Mary's towing have biggest around this area I'm the old skinny fart with my own tool cart in the GM section, stop by and say hi, I can get you pointed in the right directions.

TERRYP- you say 180th. Some day next week we have an ultrasound to find out if it is a boy or girl. The wife wants come down there and go shopping after words. I said ok but I get to go to the yards first. Do you have names of the good ones?
Thanks, Mario

I've been to Cascade in Bothell several times. They seem pretty good (and they're near my house.) There is also a good truck shop in Snohomish (Pickups NW - North East of Seattle).
I'd like to know the names of the pick-a-parts in the area too. Also, where are the auto auctions where you bought the truck for $175. The only one that I know of around here is the Woodinville auto auction and they are basically just a car lot.

See my post above about Lincoln's and Mary's towing. Lincoln has auctions on Saturdays, Mary's on Sundays, usually every 2 weeks. Mary's # is 425 743-5800, Lincoln's is on Aurora at about 140th in North Seattle. Almost all the tow companies have to have auctions required by law, even if they do not want to sell it they have to offer them. I bought one car for $5 for the sun roof, then sold the car to the tow yard for $40!
Depending on the week, and who shows up, sometimes there is nothing good, and sometimes good stuff goes almost retail, but there are deals like the Camaro, looked bad, but $200 for glass and detailing made the difference. Maybe 40 percent of the cars go for $5 to $15 (not a misprint!), but some are too much. On the Monte Carlo, I hot wired it at inspection time, liked it, cut the hood release cable, and made the 2nd bid over the $5 opener of $75 to kill speculation, still driving it after 2 years, full gueges, power everything, good upolstery. In Washington, you can only hold title to 5 cars a year without being a dealer, I'm told, but I am not sure. The 2 Pull-A Parts in Lynnewood between 164th and 196th and in Everett at about 112th are the best, clean, large selection, great prices. Right now there are 4 64-66 pu's in lynnewood, but pretty much picked over. Only 4 67-72's right now, and they are thin too, but One came in clean, I started to cut out the front glass, learned that the cab was already taken, probably a bribe My advantage is living close, and having a pass, ($1 ato get in $25/year), and wanting all sorts of electronics and wiring and interior stuff that I combine in my trucks.
