I can for you tonight. I just set the factory high back buckets and console I just purchased in Yeller the other night to get an idea on what they would look like.

What about low backs? Did they put low back buckets in the early year trucks or not.
These are 67-72 but I thought they put something like it in 73-74's... |

I think they were like the low back buckets in blazers, with the console to match. The sides are a little more contoured than the 67-72 buckets, IIRC.

is the center seat on an independent frame from the buckets or is everything on one frame?

One more thing to consider. I have read in numerous old road test that the low back seats are not as comfortable as the later style high backs...I can't confirm that since I have never sat in low backs...but the high back I have sat in were pretty comfy.

Honestly, I prefer the lower backed seats. maybe it is because they are in 73-75 Blazers, or that they are more comfortable, I don't know. The only reason I ditched them in my 77 is that I picked up some 98 ext. cab buckets in leather for free, but I like the seats. That being said, right now my plan is to put in a 2000 model bench in the front and get rid of the back seat. Hopefully, I can get it decided before I uphulster something......

I am putting a set of high back '81 Blazer buckets in my truck, with the hideous red houndstooth upholstery. they are really comfy though.

My guess is the floorpans were shaped slightly different for bucket seat trucks or there are some sort of tabs (or mounts) needed @ the center of the floor for the inner brackets to bolt to. Bench seat trucks don't have this mount/tab on their floor. So, I'll have to fab something to make them work but otherwise they bolt in the existing outer holes. I wonder if you could just use the burb/blazer brackets & make your own inner brackets to work w/your trucks floor? Bigblock73, do you know what brackets I'm referring to? Can you get a shot of your inner/outer brackets?

I must have missed that post originally. I might even have a solution to his dilemma.
