does anyone know if they made a 70 with a big block and a manual shift????i am having a time trying figure out clutch linkage.i moved the z-bar fram emount back including moving the little z bar ball back near the oil filter the but the rod doesnt work and this and that.I am about to snatch that 4 speed AND new clutch kit AND newly turned flywheel out and sell it and get me an automatic

i may go that route but looks like the tranny is a saginaw not a muncie as i thought earlier.i may make someone a great deal

So. I don't mind that. I woud be replacing an existing Saginaw. Lemme' know if you decide to go that way.

Bigunde, do a post for rod from pedal to z-bar for three speed truck w/ v8, that should get you to piece that you need to complete your swap. The part should not be expensive. Someone correct me but is the trans. crossmember further forward for a I6 . This may be corrected with the shorter v8 rod, but you may have to move the bellhousing back- I don't think so, but you might

To answer your first question, I recently sold a 72 cheyenne, 1/2 ton, 2wd, 402 with a 3 speed column shift. ALL factory. So yes they were made and parts should be available somewhere... Hope this helps.

bigunde, you are having a bunch of problems with this swap. You are scaring me becuase I plan to tackle the exact same swap in a couple weeks. I guess it is going to be harder than I thought

Seems to me that the manual trans big block trucks had a special trans crossmember as well. Someone will correct me if I am wrong!

JEREMY 5 .... THAT 70 TWO TONE, YELLOW & WHITE 3/4 TON IN YOUR AVATAR LOOKS LIKE A TRUCK THAT I USED TO OWN. DID IT COME FROM NEVADA?? ORIGIONALLY FROM COLORADO?? MOTOR OUT OF IT??.

IF SO THAT TRUCK IS A 4 SPEED, & HAD A 396 IN IT WHEN I GOT IT SO THE CLUTCH LINKAGE SHOULD BE THERE.

ya I got it from nevada. Didn't know it was orginally from Colorado though. I haven't looked but it would be extremely nice if the clutch linkage is still there.
