Alt ground connection
Hey guys:
As some of you know, I am switching my old external alt to newer CS one. Today I started the project and I noticed that my old alt has a ground connection. On my reading and previous board members writing to me, I didn't find anything about ground connection on new CS alt. Am I suppose to keep the ground connection? If yes, would you point out to me where is gona be connected (to the alt)? I can send a pic of the alt if necessary. Thanks for help. Nima |

Thanks VTBLAZER. I have read that thread but I didn't see any specific remark about the ground connection. I knowthis might be stupid but I was just wondering if somebody could tell me where the ground should go since this whole thing is new to me. I have some ideas but I just wanted to be sure. Thanks

the alternator will ground itself quite well to the engine block through the brackets, but it wouldnt hurt to hook the ground wire to one of the mounting bolts of the alternator

Thanks, I thought so too.The ground wire on the old one made me second guess. Always better be sure that sorry later.

That's how I've always done it, grounded to a mounting bolt.
