I have a rebuilt 350 Rocket engine that came from a 69 Cutlass.....I have a 72 GMC LB.....I know I will have to get the adapter plate to mount the chevy engine to the tranny.....but what will I need to mount the engine on the frame?....Do I need to get Olds block mounts and drill?....also.....anyone know where I can get some replacemnet leaf springs for cheap?.....mine look to be in sad shape along with the shackle.

The olds motor mounts are way different than the chevy, they use the horizontal bolt and my 72 uses 1 bolt on each side that screws directly into the motor mount. Even the chevy horizontal bolt mounts are different, they are wider than the plate that bolts to the olds engine, i think they can be cut down, i haven't tried it yet, but thinking of it. I found all this out when I tried putting a 455 into a 49 F@%d f-3. I tried using the mounts and towers from an 87 k-10 and nothing works, need the olds crossmember and frame mounts. You can do it, but need to get creative!! I know a guy who put a chevy transmission on an olds, just drilled the tranny to match the holes in the block and made a plate to cover the rest of the flywheel housing.

Yea I know it won't be easy but I think with a cutting torch and a welder along with plenty of scap metal I think it will worK. I have the complete moter mounts and I think I just need to lower the moter in place and make up the diffrence between the fram rail and the motormount. After the trainy is bolted up.
