How much gap should there be between the fender and the door?

I could be way off but I think its about 1/16 - 2/16 inch. Eastwood has some plastic body gas gauges.

I didn't think GM had a standard for vehicles built in the 70's or 80's. haha

I would say around 1/8" (or 2/16" as some put it

)

If one door has a larger gap then the other I would check the hinges (hinge pin and bushings).
With the door closed grab the handle of the door with the bigger gap and try to lift it up.
If the door is moving (gap changes) then your hinges are most likely bad.
Increased gap between the door and fender is usually a sign of this.

Thanks for the help. The gap is only on one side "drivers side" it was in what looked like a small fender bender driver side front at one point. I think since I cant get the fender and door gap any closer at the bottom i think the frame got tweaked a little. Im going to take it to a frame shop in the next few days.

The gap is only on one side "drivers side" it was in what looked like a small fender bender driver side front at one point.
