Mini Spool

It has been a while since I have been on here and I have a question. Has anyone ran a mini spool on the street? I don't ever plan to put anything in the back of my truck and the truck dosen't weigh much either. My thinking says it shouldn't be too much strain on the drivetrain in turns. Opinoins?

Thanks,
Sonny

One of the mechanics at a speed shop nearby said since the rear of the truck dosn't weigh much, the strain on the axles and such are minimal. He said the inside tire will squeal in tight turns.

Longhorn,

WHy not a good idea? My truck is a 68 SWB 350/400 3.73 rearend, 4.2 drop 17" billet specialties wheels on Nitto 450 rubber. Currently rebuilding the front suspension and steering.

not longhorn..but..besides the obvious safety issues(cornering when wet) and tire wear, the axels can and will break. When this happens(being C clips) it can be deadly. Mini spools are for a dirt track, full spools are strong enuff but he axel issue has to be addressed.

Spools have no place on the street.

mini spools are basically axle connectors. you open up your differential and remove the spider gears and put in this mini spool - connector so both sides always turn as one
