Relocating Tailgate Handle

I was thinkin since relocator kits flip the handle to the inside, could i just cut a hole or make piece like the kit? It comes with rods and such. Do you need new rods or are they just incase your old ones a bad? Kid on a buget trying to save $90. Any one who has done this or has any opinions or ideas let me know

you could do this if your skills are up to it. all you usually get in a kit is the bolt on plate bracket though i've seen the rods in a kit they are the same as the ones in your tailgate. i have seen the relocator for 40 bucks somewhere. i'll look for the site and shoot you a pm if you're interested.

Don't know the cost from all the board venders?
