What size are the lug nuts on 71 K20 ?
Sorry for the stupid question but I'm 50 miles from the truck and hoping to order some lugs today (my Aluminum slots are being delivered today)
I'm guessing 9/16-18 but wonder if they could be 1/2-20 ? As I can't easily just mic the studs I was hoping someone could tell me definitively what size this truck came with from the factory.(I have NO reason to believe the running gear is anything but stock) Thank you VERY much, Brian

They are 9/16, up to 1970 they were 1/2.
How do you like your ROUGH country lift? That's what I have on my 71, also.

1970 K25, 8' stepside bed 350/465/205 44 up front, 60 in the rear 4.10s rolling on 33" Dunlop MTs 1986 K5, 350/465/208 Dana 60/14 bolt from a cucv 36" Super Swampers TSL/SX 1983 K20 w/ CUCV axles, 350/700R4/208 sitting on 37" Goodyears 1986 M1031 6.2 diesel, TH400/NP205 locker in the rear and a LS in the front, all stock for now..... 1986 K30, 350/400/205 dana 60 and 14 bolt. I kept the drivetrain. Body/bad and chassis are gone. 1981 K30, 350/465/205 dana 60 and dually 14 bolt. Has a G80, and a flat bed. Going to replace the flat bed. 1985 K20, 350/400/208 10 bolt and SF 14 bolt. I wonder where I can find some 1 tons. Hmmmmm

The 100 miles or so I have driven it so far I like it plenty :-)
Rides at least as well as the clapped out old sagging fronts it had when I got it. Crud I finally guessed the other day and ordered 1/2" .. anyone want 32 1/2" shank lugs with washers? Thanks ! Brian

Bummer and those nuts are expensive too.
I've got them on both of my K20's with the turbine wheels. Don't forget to get the washers as well. They make those shank nuts with short and long heads depending on how long your studs are. Either should work on yours unless someone installed long studs. Unfortunately the chrome on all of them is crap. Expect them to be brown after the first rain. I can't imagine what they would look like with some road salt on them. I wish I could get stainless ones or maybe caps that go over them. |

How would you like them black ?
Sandblast the crappy old chrome off them and we'll drop them in the park tank :-) You keep a parkerized piece oiled it'll last under some VERY severe conditions.
