Drip Rails to front pillar, does water get in there??

I have to redo my drip rails and have the drip chek. My question for those who have cab experience is: Under the factory drip rail sealer, is there a seam that would allow water to get down into the front pillars? I have a small leak in the cab from a seam behind the glove box and can't figure out where it is coming from.

There is a seam under the cowl that will cause this.

Can you explain where it is or post a shot? Here is the are where mine is leaking, on both sides of the cab. This is behind the glovebox with the liner removed. It drips in right at the top of the seam. It is under the windshield. I have sealed the glass to no avail with urethane from 3M. The driver's side is the same. I thought about smearing some Sikaflex 221 all over the place unde there but am afraid the water will just go elsewhere and drip in or rot something out.

You have to take the cowl off to see the seams. There is a seam on both sides. To remove cowl : take of wiper arms-two bolts on each side-row of screws that hold hood seal and remove radio atn. if you have one.

I've got the cowl off right now, are you talking about the opposite side of the seam in the shot? I have sealed best I can without removing the glass.

No. I was talking about the seams on each side (you should see the factory sealer). If not leaking there you then more then likely have a hole rusted thru under the windshield rubber in each corner. Take some water and pour it there and see if it leaks.

I too have had that leak. There appaers to be a place where the inner cowel bends down towards the firewall and the air inlet vents that has a seem and some kind of a metal splash guard to prevent water from going into the cab vent. Think that may have some rust or sealer issues. You can barely see the spot by looking down the sides of the cowl from the top.

Sorry but have never checked that spot out. Try the old water trick on it and see.

My leak is not from the windshield frame or from the seams that run across the firewall from drivers side to pass side. It drips on my left foot!!! getting under the dash, you can see this rounded section on each side. Will be a SOB to reseal as it was probably done before the outer metal was spot selded on the vent boxes. You really got to kind of get under the thing with rain or water being sprayed to see the spot. Other option is to cut off the left foot or wear a baggie on it!hehehehe

whenever i drive my truck in the rain it leaks around the top of the windshield and runs down the inside glass

I am tempted to pull the windshield and start from scratch.

Open your door and stand on the rocker panel and check to see if the factory sealer is cracked and coming off. If it is you better remove it, wire brush the surface good, and re-seal it before you're roof rots out like mine did.
