Factory Deleted Radio? Rare?

My '85 GMC came with no radio and the instrument panel just has a molded cover where the radio should be. I'm planning on putting in some kind of radio in it's place. I don't want to cut it when there's tons of these sitting in junkyards with radio provisions. So, anybody interested in mine? Somebody could probably use it more than I could. Thanks in advance.

It isn't unheard of, but it isn't very common in the light duty trucks either. You should be able to remove it without damaging it, and I'd be interested in taking it off your hands if it is in good shape

my dads old 73 had that option-he put a radio in it but he kept the plate.if he can find it im going to add a console to my truck that will house the radio and my dash has been cut already for a CD player so im going to have that welded shut and then put the delete plate over it so it matches the bezel and looks factory too.
