That's the correct part # for '71-'72 only black auto shift indicator. All others ('67-'70) are different.

Just to note: there is a difference between
tilt and non-tilt pointers... The p/n for a tilt column, the little white tooth looking thing..is 3912618 and it too looks to be NLA (no longer available) from GM....:-( Dealer stated it was used in trucks all the way upto 1990 model. so should be lots of them out there! ------------------ 71 Chevy C-10 SWB Fleetside WAS:307w/3-on-the-tree NOW:350TBI/700R4/3.73 See it at www.prismnet.com/~grzanich

Hey Fast...
I was thinking you were asking for the pointer p/n....before I actually comprehended what you were asking...I answered. Yeah, the p/n you have seems correct for the 'housing'...but there is a difference between the tilts and the non-tilts. The p/n I gave is for the little white pointer for a tilt column. I called GM looking for it and they (the GM dealer) stated it was used upto '90 in some trucks. But Yes, I think most newer vehicles have the indicator in-the-dash now and not on the column. But the p/n you have for the housing should still be available from GM... ------------------ 71 Chevy C-10 SWB Fleetside WAS:307w/3-on-the-tree NOW:350TBI/700R4/3.73 See it at www.prismnet.com/~grzanich
