rad rides (by Troy) red truck ???

So this truck is going to be in some magazine somewhere according to the whomever responds to the e-mail questions at Rad Rides. Yet getting a straight and clear answer from this person has not been easy. When I asked if there would be any info about it anywhere I got this response, "yes". When I then followed up and asked, "TV show, magazine, internet, other?" I got the response, "magazine"...

Go figure, why even have someone answering questions? So, my question is now out to the board. If anyone can find any details about this build of theirs, maybe an article somewhere, please let us (me) know. THANKS!

Man that picture annoys me! I keep thinking it's a digital image with a glitch in it because of the white line, but it's actually just the building behind it.

I saw a bunch of pictures of that truck after it was finished, but I don't remember where. The Rad Rides site only has "in progress" pictures. I also have the new issue of Custom Classic Trucks.

If that truck was built by Rad Rides I could just imagine the quality!!
The best builder in North America in my opinion.

Thumbs up

Yes, Troy does produce some of the cleanest and amazing vehicles. I agree that he is probably the best builder in North America, but that is just my opinion. My respect for his work is the reason I'd like to have more information about this vehicle. Thanks for the leads!

Yes Troy built my favorite rod. Quadra Duece Simply amazing. I love the idea of AWD. My dream is to have a bagged 72 blazer AWD twin turbo.

Actually, he rebuilt your favorite ride. Mark Steilow (& Summit Racing) are the original designers & builders. Troy came along & made it much nicer w/the awsome paint scheme (the original paint scheme left much to be desired IMO) & other related RadRides touches.

Building a small, high rpm engine with the perfect bore, stroke and rod ratio is very impressive.
It's like a highly skilled Morrocan sword fighter with a Damascus Steel Scimitar.....

Cubic inches is like Indiana Jones with a cheap pistol.

As far as I know, Quad II is the rebuilt original after it left RadRides.

i ve been to troy trepaniers shop before, but its been a few years. i used to go out with a niece of his. this was when he was just starting out. i think around the time he made that rambler. They had a brand new viper in there that they had gutted and they were putting the v10 and suspension under a real old chrysler coupe and grafting the viper interior in it. I remember troys dad had a real bada$$ bel air, around a '62 that serioisly sat in the grass. i mean it was literally in the front yard of the shop about 1/2 inch off the ground. im only about 25 miles south of manteno,il and try to drive by the shop when i can.

That would be the 'Sniper'. It was an old Dodge/Plymouth coupe.

So I have not yet found the mag with the article. From the picture we can see that the markers have been shaved, along with the door handles and there is no filler neck for the tank behind the driver's door. What other nifty subtle tricks have taken place with this "RAD" ride?
