License plate insert

I recently saw a weld in insert for holding a license plate in a tailgate. I don't remember who the manufacturer was. Any one remember seeing something like this on TV? Thanks in advance Kerry

Sir Michaels makes these inserts, and they are fairly cheap too.

Thanks

I will call them in the am. Randy I probably will need you to weld the box in and help me put the tailgate on. Need to put some brackets on the bed to keep the tailgate up. Getting the front end aligned in the am. Maybe come out to your house tomorrow. I will call you. Kerry

They are easy enough to make if you have the time(20-30 minutes). Get a piece of 18ga. steel a little larger than your plate and about 3-4 feet of 1 1/2" 18 ga strap. Take your tag, trace it onto the steel including your mounting holes leaving about 1/4-3/8" all the way around the tag. Use a plasma cutter, bandsaw, jigsaw, air nibbler or airshears or small anglegrinder(4 1/2") with a cut off disk and cut out the shape. Drill out your holes for tagscrew inserts. Fire up your mig and start tacking the strap around the edges wrapping it around the corners. Once welded, it makes a nice tag box with radiused corners instead of just a plain square box. You can integrate either an OEM type flush mount tag light into the box or use a lighted billet tag frame.
