Powdercoating Wheels
What is the going rate to have a set of Ralleys powdercoated. I got a quote of 65.00 per wheel and was wondering if this in the ballpark.

I found the price ranged widely (65.00 being the high). I finally had them done for 20.00 per wheel. They look great.

I got mine powder coated for $10.00 a wheel by Advanced Powder Coating in Glen Raven, N.C.

You can buy an Eastwood powder coater and lamp setup and start pwdercoating anything you want for about 300
|

I thought about getting a setup from Eastwood. Problem is I would have to find an oven and get a new 220 circuit added to my house( I have added 110 circuits but never messed with 220) I wonder if a 15 inch wheel will fit in a standard oven. Is it pretty easy to get a real good finish. Doing brackets and such under the hood is one thing but a set of wheels that are going to show is another. Just dont know if it is worth trying to do myself. I have heard that the stuff is a bear to get off if you screw it up. If you use a lamp do you just move it around to cover the whole area. How is the finish on areas that overlap and also how much overspray is there.

$100.00, for five wheels, already sand blasted, by EMI-Tech Inc. They are located in East Texas, build aluminum accessories for race car trailers. Thier oven is only 11' long so I will have to find another source for the frame i need to powder caot
