Anyone sell a 4 wheel COMPLETE disc brake kit?
Heres the deal. I have 5 lug front disc (probably off a 71 or 72) and 6 lug rear drum and i need to get them on the same page so i can get some rims. My front disc are sitting on stock spindals and i plan to go with 2 1/2 drop spindals when i do my suspension drop (still trying to decide on springs or bags).
I looked at ece and cpp and i didnt see a 4 wheel disc brake set up on either of their websites. It doesnt really matter to me if i go to all 6 or all 5 lug but one has to go. Initually i was thinking about replacing the rear end with a 5lug rear and problem solved but then im stuck with rear drums so now im thinking that i mine as well shoot the moon and get a nice full disc set up on 6 lug and just keep the rear end i got. I saw that cpp sells a "grandslam" kit that has all the suspension drop stuff as well as front disc brakes and the price is only $1399 but it doesnt come with rear discs and they dont tell you much about the brakes components. What do you guys think is my best option at this point? Could i just change out my front rotors to a 6 lug rotor? Are all the new 6 lug trucks the same bolt patern as the old 6 lugs? HELP! ![]() Thanks |

CPP also sells rear disc brake kits; it is bolt on except for a tab for the emergency brake (if you want to run an e-brake) that welds onto the rear axle. The grand slam kit had everything I needed to rebuild my front and rear suspension, front brakes, and drop how much I wanted.
Their rear disc kits are $599, look on page 2 of the truck section. If you need to rebuild your suspension the grand slam is great, I absolutely love mine. If not, they sell drop kits with spindles, rotors, calipers, that utilize all your original tie rods, ball joints etc.

I think ive decided to just get some 6 lug front rotors for now and worry about the rest later. My near drums just got rebuilt so i guess i shoudl drive it awhile before i worry about upgrading them.
On a side note. Does anyone know the rim lingo for the 6lug patern? |

Are you planning on going with and aftermarket wheels? The reason I ask is that there are way more wheels out there to choose from if you went with 5 on 5 lug pattern. BUT they are starting to get alot more 6 on 5.5 now because of the newer trucks and SUVs that have the 6 lug rotors.

The last ones are Eagle026 the first two are Boss 311 and 301. I'd like to do 20x8.5 in front and 20 or 22x 9.5 in back. Anyone knwo what backspacing i would need on a 4/6 drop? |

Go with the Foose wheels. Those are sweet. They look smooth around the hub centers. I dont like the way the others recess in around the lugs. Good choice of wheels though.
