Talking Re-joined the 73-87 crowd

Two weeks ago I picked up my new daily driver. It was by luck that we found it, but I call it fate. It's an '85 CUCV Blazer that came from the AF base from over in Ft Worth, Tx, just a hop skip and a jump from here. I am the first registered civilian owner of this rig and it only had 11,800 miles on it when I picked it up. The drivetrain consists of a 6.2 diesel, 400/208, 3.08's front/rear with a rear locker and is a 3/4 ton. There is not one bit of rust in this truck and the top is in perfect condition. I still have a little cleaning to do to the interior, but once the dust and dirt is knocked off, it almost looks new. I have a few pics from the evening when we brought it home, but plan to get some updated pics this weekend. In the last two weeks I've logged just over 1500 miles and have averaged 25mpg.

Cool Blazer. 11800 miles! That thing is almost new.

Is that pic taken in front of your house? It looks a lot like my buddies neighborhood in Rowlett....

Yeah, alot of the neighborhoods look alike around here. I'm in Sachse, which is just north of Rowlett.

One thing I forgot to mention, I only paid $1500 for it. I'd say that was my best score of the year.

not on 10 bolts it wont. while it says its a 3/4 ton, there is no difference between it and any other K5 Blazer suspension wise. the M1009s are 5/4 ton, but are merely a K30 (1 ton) with a different rating.

regardless of how strong it is, its still a great deal. i wouldnt mind having one myself.

I know the axles could be an issue, but no harder than I'll ever wheel it, they will be fine for me. It's my daily driver, so I can't beat on it too hard.

I'm going to try and shoot some brighter pics this weekend. Those were taken right when we brought it home and the sun was quickly going down.

Thanks for the kind comments.
