throttle cable woes
Well I finally get the 4bbl on the 307 and as I'm hooking up the linkage I find that my throttle cable is too long. The pedal is about an inch off the floor so I can only partly open the throttle from inside the cab. Is there any way I can just shorten it, or do I have to go and buy another one?

What kind of end (at the carb) do you have, is it the ball type
-or- the pin& clip style (for lack of a better way to explain it)... If its a pin&clip sytle, get a new cable like that for say an '84 chevy 1500 with 350 and I believe it will fit quite nicely, might have to trim off the plastic a bit were it goes thru the fire wall, but overall, a nice fit. Its not the ball type end...If you have a bit of time to kill, go to napa or autozone and ask them if they can match up a better cable (just take your old one) and have a look thru there stock.

How about crimping on a fishermans weight or tying some knots in the cable?

Cable, what cable?
I flipped my rod over and 'massaged' it a bit to work with my 4bbl.
