Location for tuned port wiring harness hole in firewall???
Just about to the point of installing the Painless wiring harness for the tuned port injection. So, I'm curious where those you with tuned port setups made the hole in the firewall for the harness leading to the ECM?

How did you find the overall quality/ease of install of the painless TPI harness??
I'm doing the same conversion and I was thinking about the painless harness as well if I don't use the stocker.

I put my hole right behind the pass side valve cover. From the interior it comes in behind the heater box. It took a really large grommet. I still need to seal my hole as well, but I have to pull my harness again before I seal it.

I would be interested to know how the painless harness works out too. I have a fully polished TPI and the complete stock harness, sensors, ECM & MAF waiting to go into something but I look at the stock harness & scratch my head. I bought the book from JTR (Jags That Run) but it still makes no sense to me....

I am running an LT-1. I got the painless harness with extra length and mounted the computer under the passenger seat. I ran all the harness wiring down the inside of the framerail. The painless harnesses are great, I have the LT-1 harness and the chassis harness.

Are you saying you already bought the painless setup, but are not installing it in favour of making your own? Cause I would highly suggest the painless harness if you already have one. If you don't have one, it is much cheaper to make your own, but you need a basic understanding of how the system works and how everything interacts. It all makes sense after you get to know how it all works together

I put mine in the same place. Right below the vacuum lines for the heater. Just remember to run your fuel pump relay wires thru the grommet before you put it all in. Jeff.
