freaking awesome... i cant tell if my heater quit or if its just too cold for the old girl...

its 0 deg with windchill (granted not as cold as -47 like way up north).. i drove around for about 20-30 min this morning and the heater never even got warm. The engine was up to operating temp but no heat inside the cab.

That sucks man. My heater never worked very well either. I had to keep my window down to keep the windshield from fogging over.

had the same problem, changed my stat last night, and had to turn the heater down on the way to work this am.

i know the feeling- our trucks AC and Heater doesnt work, mostly because the ducts and controls aren't working right

it got warmer about the time i went to work when the tempts neared the freezing mark (high for today) .. Will have to check the stat come tues or something when its back up to upper 50s. Radiator should be full but will check that as well..

Plumbed wrong?

Both the fitting on the radiator AND the water pump are returns. If those are both used then the coolant will not circulate through the heater. The out to the heater line is from the intake ALWAYS. It goes in the bottom connection (the smaller line)to purge the air out of the heater core. If you plumb it with it with the in line at the top (the large connection on the heater core) it will trap air in the core and not heat very well.

If you take the glove box door off the lever for the heat is right behind it. The clip that retains the cable often pops and doesn't fully open the door.

190 degree thermostat if all else fails. While it takes a while, because of the amount of space, my burb gets plenty warm with a 195 (its a FI truck). My 75 Jimmy and my 79 Blazer both had decent heat. The 79 was plumbed wrong when I got it and it was sucking before I swapped the lines.
