2wd headers on a 4x4?
Any chance my headers for a 2wd will fit my 3/4 ton 4wheeler? She'll be running a 2 wheel drive transmission with a divorced transfercase

I dont see why they wouldnt.....Im running headers fit for a Chevelle.....just takes a lil bit of heat and a BFH or gentle persuader....along with some time an lots of beer.
Truthfully, I think that they will work. I had a set of headers on my 4x2 that I moved to my 4x4 for a little while, and I didnt have any issues.

Sounds good, cause I've got an awesome exhaust setup on my current 2wd truck, and I really don't want to have to buy a new set of headers and a new exhaust setup, lol

i've got a set that came off of my 86 when it was a C10, im gonna try to make them fit. even if there were clearance issues, mine wouldnt be as bad as some, since my front shackles are moved forward several inches.

I run 2wd doug thorley's on my 4x4.. But I had to heat and bend the passenger side set to clear spring shackles... from what Ive gathered, MOST brands of 2wd headers wont fit a 4x4....

I won't be running a stock t-case, may be able to get around it yet

if you're running anything offered by GM, you'll have problems. the only way i could see getting around it would be something physically smaller, like an Atlas or something, and even then it probably wouldnt help a whole lot. plus, an Atlas is $$$

Mine fits real snug, Ive got an SM465/NP205, my headers are the long tube Hooker Supercomp, with 2 1/8 primaries into a 3 1/2 collector. From there it is reduced to a 3" pipe into dual 3" flows, with dumps just infront of the rear axle. My passenger side header is about 1/2" from the starter, 3/8" from the passenger firewall on the topside, and the exhaust pipe is bent around the t case, so that even with motor torque, there is no rubbing between the two. Like I said though, it just takes a little creativity with a torch, prybar, BFH and some beer. BTW, this is all on a BBC, so if you are running a SBC, you have even more room to work with.

Probally just don't know the first thing about the 4x4s, but yeah, my exhaust hugs the frame rails the whole way back, so maybe the t-case won't be in the way?

When I bought my new headers the box had 2x4 and 4x4 both listed as applications.

It`s the t-case crossmember you need to get around.Takes a 45deg/45deg to get over it.

If it is a matter of just installing a couple 45 degree pipes in, no big deal then... The pipes are totally straight the whole way back, so a guy could easily cut and install the new pipes
