question about my pickup

hello again I have another question I was admiring the underworkings of my 69' cst-10 pickup, anyway I came across a wire hanging out the right side of the transmission, it looked long enough to reach the top of the engine but it was not connected to anything, what could this be??????. oh it's a TH400

And it's on the left (driver's) side. On the 69 it goes to a kickdown switch on the carb on the corner nearest to the master cylinder.
