I found the ORIGINAL documentation

I was cleaning out the safe last night and ran across the old folder that I got from Grandma after my Grandpa died and left me the truck. I never really paid much attention to the paperwork until now. I have seen guys post build sheets, etc... on here, so I thought a few of you might get a kick out of what I found. (I scanned these in at work today).

I found the original:

1) Warranty Information

2) Protecto-Plate (still attached to warranty card)

3) Car Owner's Companion folder (front) **NOTICE the phone numbers**

4) Car Owner's Companion folder (back) **NOTICE the delivery date**

More Documents

Also have the:

Thank You note from GMAC

THE TITLE...the ORIGINAL title.

The way I got this, was to have grandma apply for a "lost" title replacement, because I knew that to change ownership, we would have to sign the title and send it off to the Dept. of Motor Vehicles and I DID NOT want to send the original to them and get a modern one back. (Pretty smart, huh?)

and the

Original envelope from GMAC (notice the date and postage-rate)

I also have the original contracts for financing, but to make them fit, you can't read them. $2400 purchase price, with $412 down and $71.12/month for 36 months. Wow!
I also have the sales tax paperwork from the county clerk with the little 'ticker-tape' that was torn off the adding machine.

VERY cool score! I was thrilled to find my disintigrating build sheet in the seat. You hit the MOTHER LODE! H.

The cab has never had anything removed (excluding the seat), so I hope there is a build sheet somewhere behind the tank or under the rubber mat?!?!

Not yet. Still hanging on by a few bolts.....however... I think the ol' clutch is about to head south and the motor is complaining, so it'll really freak out when I plant an automatic in there behind the new small block. (Nothing outrageous, but gotta' go for some modern creature comforts). Hopefully if the weather holds out, I will have it all transplanted by the end of January.

Maybe....I haven't found a tranny yet. Can't decide which road to go down (350, 400, or 700R4).

Toms68cst,
Yep...grandpa was ""Hopkins". Born and raised in Arkansas and had all girls (3 daughters), who had all boys (4 grandsons). Being the oldest, I got first choice of the pending inherited items. Being the automotive guy of the family, I chose the truck, the next grandson (big duck hunter guy) picked the gun cabinet and the guns, etc....
