"Chevy 305 came out of my 86 C10. 114,000 mi. new Summit 1102 cam/lifters. new gaskets throughout. 200.00"

New member looking at posts. Have you sold this already? If not, did she run ok? Use oil or anything? Why did you pull it?

Thanks

nope, i've still got it. my intentrions for the truck were to put it together (bought it with a bad trans from the original owner) and drive the wheels off of it. it was a little leaky, so i pulled it to regasket it. in the process i found a worn timing chain and some wear patterns on the cam that i didnt like. nothing flat, just odd wear marks. i put the new cam and lifters in it, along with a new double roller timing chain. after the truck decided to eat its third 700R4, i decided enough was enough, i was going to do something different. so it became a body donor for my trail truck project. im not using the engine because i have a 5.7 Vortec that i was planning on using, and i recently came across a 6.2 diesel, im going with that instead. best carbed engine i've ever had, 1 pump and it would fire up every time. no burning oil that i noticed, although i probably only put 1000 mi or less on the truck since i bought it in April '03

Hey, Jeremy if you are using the diesel engine now, do you want to sell the Vortec? If so, how much?

it needs a crank kit and 2 rods, and is completely disassembled right now. i have everything from the valvecovers down, with the exception of the oil pan. i scored another crank and a set of rods today, but they will need to be checked out. i'm thinking of putting it together for my next project... my evil brain is at work again...

i just wanted to chime in and say what a pleasure it was to deal with you and thanks for the shocks. if you still have some 15x8 rallys (5x5) in a few weeks i might take some off your hands, cause i need new tires and i have 3 bent rims right now.
