3/4 length headers...

Just thought I would put up a few pics of my headers in case some of you guys dont like seeing the collectors of the full length ones like me! These are for a chevelle, they are dynomax part number: 85118 I think they were about $120 from summit. Only about $5 more than the ones listed for these trucks.

Thanks for posting those! Those are probably the headers I'm going to go with pretty soon, so I can go LOW

No problem, I asked about them earlier and I dont think anyone here was running those exact headers. They fit good, almost like they are designed for our trucks. I'm very pleased with them. I would like to have the ceramic coating, but I dont have the $$ now.

How is your spark plug access with those headers?

About the same as with the last set of headers I had. I will admit I cheated though, I put the plugs in and then installed the headers. It wont be fun to change them, but it never is with headers.

Ya, they are designed as an emissions legal header for 67-81 camaro or 64-88 chevelle. Your supposed to be able to hook the stock y-pipe back to them with little mods.

They are 1.5" primarys with a 2.5" collector, and they are $116 from summit. I know they are a little on the small side, but I can compromise for the better looks. I'm not running any high hp engine anyways so I dont think they will make that big of a difference.

Hedman makes shorty headers for ours too. They are shorter than those too if you really need ground clearance.

Have you changed the plugs yet? I'm trying to decide on angle plug or straight plug heads. Looks like 1,3,2,4 are a PIA to change.

bluex, I have angled plug heads that I am finding it quite difficult to find shorties that will work. In your opinion, by looking at your setup, do you think those would fit with angled plugs?? Does any of the paperwork that came with the headers say if they will or will not fit?? Thanks in advance!!

those are the same ones i'm running except i have the ceramic coated version, pn 86118, changing straight plugs on them is easy. took me about 30 min to change all 8 the the other night. they only have 1-1/2 primary tubes though so they are choking my motor. they are good for a mild 350 though.

I changed my plugs the other day and it really wasnt a problem to get to any of them.

67chev--I've never worked on/around a set of angle plug heads, but I dont think you would have a problem. Nothing said they wouldnt work, but they didnt say they would either. Can you post a pic of how the plugs go in your heads. I think they would work there is alot more room around the plug than you think. Sorry I cant help more. Maybe you could call dynomax and see what they say?
