Can a 1 ton dually 2wd be converted to a 4wd? Will it mount on a 4wd suburban frame? What is the easiest way if it is possible?

suburban chassis is 127 inch while the dually 1 ton is either 133 or 157 inch.

Seems easiest way is if you want the dually and it's suspension..then put the engine 4x4 cross member in the frame and use the subs spring purchases and springs to mount what ever type front diff you come up with ...that being a dana 44 or dana 60. Both can be convereted to run dually front wheels, via spacer or get a dually front 60 to start with.

If you wanted a short wheel base dually you could use the sub frame and put a truck cab on it and convert the rear to dually. You have to use a trucks front cab mount on the sub frame..there different. Watch the height of the cab mount as you mount it also. A 4x4 mount is about 3/4 inch below the top of the frame rail....while a 2wd 1/2 ton sits flush to he top of the frame rail.
