I need help finding a dash gauge bezel please!
Hello all, I just got a brand new dash pad for my 83. I'm going to get all the other trim I need, and put it in with new speakers also. I'm an aircraft mechanic, so I like doing things once and right. Since my truck is an 83, it seems to be a one year bezel. LMC says theirs has a bronze tint to it I don't want BRONZE! So, what I'm wanting to know is will a 77-80? work? I know the 81-83 is the same, but I haven't found them either. I want a silver bezel, but have to have the wiper switch hole and air vents. Can anyone point me in the right direction. Thanks, David

One of the online places carries a new silver insert. If yours is intact, you might be able to go that route. I think it was Chevyduty... Slonaker |

David;
I checked my GM parts manual, and it looks like the same P/N's from 81-83. My manual has the same number for 81-83 deluxe instrument panels (brushed aluminum) w/o air, but only 81-82 w/air, but I think this is a typo because I couldn't find any unique 83 only deluxe panel with air. The 77-80 are different, with aluminum trim around the light/wiper holes and the radio. I think you best bet is to watch eBay, some NOS or very clean panels come up. Doug |

Thanks for the reply Slonaker and Doug. I saw those inserts at Chevyduty, but I would rather get a new one all together. Mine is chipped, split and rough. Doug, I did notice the 78-80 bezels had the lower silver trim also, but is that the only difference? The lower steering column trim is different right? I don't have a perfect truck, and it's made up from a lot of different years anyway! 82,83,84,85 and 90; are the years of the major parts of my truck! I just want a nice looking dash, because one day (much later), the whole truck will look great! Thanks, David

the top of the bezel is different on the 81-up gauge bezels. The older ones will work on a newer style pad, but an 81-up bezel will not work on a 73-80 pad.

ChevyDuty should have what you need. I know they offer a brushed aluminum (silver) bezel with A/C cutouts for 81-87 style dash pads. You can also try here: http://www.73-87chevytrucks.com/
Happy hunting
