front end
i am ready to start putting things back together on my stepper and thought before I bust my hump restoring I could get some help. Does anyone know of a place to get the spindles, brakes, calipers, pads and lines that is not going to kill me, even if I have to go stock, just not 1,200.00 dollars. thanks.

Lowering or not? It'll probably be just as cheap, if not cheaper, to just get some drop spindles.

hmmmmmmm
the problem with that is that someone already lowered it, but all they did was cut the springs, I'm not sure what to do because I don't know who messed with it (the truck) this is a pic of it's height now, maybe you can tell...

DJM 3" Drop Spindles = $250
Summit 2" Drop Springs = $90 New Rotors from Local Parts Store = $100 Get calipers from local junkyard = $50 SS Braided Brake Lines = $100 New Brake Pads from Local Parts Store = $25 $600, done deal. Probably not gonna get much cheaper than that. |

i would seriously recommend new calipers and rubber brake hoses over SS brake hoses and junkyard calipers. When redoing brakes, used is NOT the way to go.

30.00 And you can have get a good set (both sides) of remanufactured calipers from KOI, Savage auto parts. It has everything for the caliper (mounting bolts, copper washers, brake pad clip) minus brake lines and pads. Brake pads I got were Raybestos PG Plus 80.00 and new Raybestos rotors 1.25 thick thinking 80.00 also for the pair. Raybestos rubber brake lines was roughly 40 for the pair. I cant find my slip when I bought all these parts to get the exact price.

I would get some new springs. You can get some ACDelco springs for $80. RockAuto.com has them. Or keep an eye out on Ebay. I've seen them there before. I wouldn't go to the bother of rebuilding a front-end to just put the cut springs back on.
