A/C Drains Battery Need Help
Im a new guy to this board, but not a new to auto/truck repair. I'v ben in collision repair for 25years and solved many a problem. This problem I need a little help with. On my 73 chevy pu my battery goes dead over nite I have traced it to the A/C unit wiring under the hood?. Could be the switch?. If I undo the power to the a/c every thing is fine. But I live in Arizona I will need it soon and I dont suffer very well. Please help

When you say you undo power to the A/C, where are you doing that? At the compressor? or on the controller under the dash or somewhere else?

My truck was a little riged when I got it. There is a connector on the fire wall under hood a black striped wire, when connected the battery goes dead over nite. Something is keeping the fan relay on ( fan not moving ) with the key off. And it drains the battery can some one shed some light on this.
