Post Alt. question

What side of the engine is the alt. suppose to be on on a 69 w/short water pump? Mine is on the left side. Are 72 on the left side? Looking at wire harnesses and They are the same from 69-72. I thought they changed sides when they went to long water pump. Thanks.

I know V-6 trucks had it on the passenger, and I thing the inlines did too. Trucks did stay short pump till '73.
