Has anyone pulled a 350 with 4-speed out of a 4x4 truck with the transfercase and all as an assembly? Where is a good balance point??
I was thinking at the rearmost intakemanifold bolts??
Any input????

I hope you have the front clip off or you will have a very difficult time getting the whole setup out at once. It takes a little wrestling to get the whole setup off even with the front clip removed. Here is a pic showing how my 307/3 speed/Rockwell transfer case came out of mine. Not really a good balance point given the lenght of the whole setup.

direct bolt to the intake with a carb hole jack plate. Lift it up in the rear-most hole of the jack plate, and remove the hood. It'll be a little tail heavy, of course, but it's nice to have the assurance of a solid piece of metal rather than a creaky sloppy chain.

I think jerked one out of a C-20 without removing the front clip, but I had to remove the hood.

The total length with the transfer case is what makes it diffucult - I didn't measure but here is a pic of the whole GREASY mess once out. Transfer case is alot of weight too.
