LMC vs. Mothertruckers - The 1947 - Present Chevrolet & GMC Truck Message Board Network

Basically this is a quality question. I noticed Mothertruckers sells some parts for a lot less than LMC. One such thing is interior pieces. LMC's houndstooth seat cover is 100 bucks more, their carpet is 50 bucks more and their door panels are about 20 more. Is there any difference in the parts?

dont have experience with either but lmc has high prices and i hear they have really bad service, but mothertruckers on the other hand i have heard nothin but great things about, i personally would buy from him over lmc

LMC is one of the highest priced places to buy your trucks from, unless you have a discount code. I don't do business with them because of that, I hate having to jump through hoops to get a reasonable price.

I dont have any experience with LMC but mother truckers got me my one piece windows fast and i was pleased with the quality of the kit.

I was lucky enough to get "OK" service from LMC, the part that I ordered was pricey and the lady on the phone didn't know anything about trucks or the part that I ordered. The part was very nice though and fit great. I'd put my money on Mothertruckers.

Does Ed have a mail order catalogue. I was about to order a few hundred dollars worth of parts for Christmas but held off. I've heard nothing but good, I'm sorry, great stuff about Ed and would like to order some parts from him soon. I've seen some of the work that he does to some of the board members trucks, top notch. You have to love a guy who puts great pride and quality into his work.

Personally I haven't dealt with LMC but they have an excellent catalogue that I use as a resource and it seems like they have just about every part you are looking for.

So far the only person I have bought parts from (other the Summit for engine parts) is Ed from Mothertruckers. He provides good products, good price and great service. I dont shop around anymore what ever I need I just call him.
I just bought some custom bed sides from him last month.

Sounds like Ed at Mothertruckers is the guy to deal with. I know his service is top notch, I just wasn't sure about product quality when I saw how low his prices were. It's nice to know that I can buy off him with confidence. Thanks!

I like being able to get a free catalog But I would Much Rather Have A Better Price

I Ordered Some Bed Bolts From LMC As A Kit For My 85 I Figured it would be more like stock rather than using hardware store carraige bolts

When i got my kit all but the two long bolts were plain carriage bolts like i could have gotten at the lumberyard. But The Long Two Were Like Original Well When I Installed Them The Head Snapped Off One Of The Long Ones.

As For The Customer Service I hadnt Called Untill Reading This Post And Its Been Months Since I Ordered Them .

But There Going To Send Me Another Bed Bolt Kit.

All the positive feedback on Ed prompted me to contact him with questions. So far he has been very responsive. He will get my next parts order. I've had great luck with the board sponsors so far.

I think what good came from that earlier post gone bad was,with LMC it`s hit or miss.Some good,some bad.And,they are not supporters of this board.I suggest,if anyone is pondering buying a piece(s)from LMC,you post what you`re considering here and find out how that part turned out for anyone else that may have used LMC.That`s the benefit of this site,a great resource.

The only problem I have had with Ed is if you start talking to him on the phone about trucks, you have a heck of a time getting off the phone, even on his nickel. Great Guy to deal with!

I agree with the rest LMC catalog and buy from vendors on the board. I'd go with the closest to you becauseof shippin' charges.

Alot of the vendors on the board will do free shipping (minus the big parts of course) if you order around $300 or so worth of parts. That is the only way I would order parts, in bulk to save lots of money in shipping charges. Or go local if you could find a better deal.
