![]() ![]() I think it will work, I dont see why I cant make it work, I already and going to have to move the cross member, the frame will need to be trimmed too. any body else do this? I got the tank for a killer price! I also got the brakes off the truck to go with my brakes on the frame idea... lots fitting to do on it though before I can call it done. ![]() ![]() and the money shot... ![]() ![]() Last edited by supersize75k5; 01-12-2005 at 02:16 AM. |

Where did you buy your brake mount kit?

I was thinking of using a much smaller booster and mc,but keeping it in the factory position as I want to run the exhaust inside the frame.
Would you then just cut a access panel in the floor?? Looks good keep us posted.

How are you going to get the sending unit to work with the stock fuel gage, or whatever gage you plan on using? I would also like to see some pics of the tank mounted when done

I have 3 of those tanks here. And all you need is a sender out of a carb. or early 83-86 blazer. I have a couple of those too. Or take the fuel pump off and extend the tube to the bottom with a sock filter,All gm fuel senders are 90 ohm's and will work..Good idea if it will fit...

I dig the drop top. Actually, I guess it would be a forever dropped top. I knew someone would be happy for the drought.

My friends '49 has a small lift up door in the floor, you lift it up and you can check fluid. Not too bad as far as getting to it.

Thanks for tyhe comments guys, I actaully want a really neet acces pannel from a boat, very cool looking, it will be just the right size and is see though with some neet latches, going to be difficult to get it ordered since it is on a custom made boat.
If I cant go that route, it will be just a plain ole access plate. I think the clear palte idea wil be useless anyways with road grime. I am going to try to use a blazer sending unit for the guage, for the guages I am restoring mine, getting the speedo recalibrated locally and using white overlays. I got some guage needles off a newer dodge that I will be trying to use as well for a custom touch, the are transparent/see though. as for the convertable...only way to go in a desert! ![]() |
