4x4 Swap

I asked this question on the parts board and didn't get a lot of response. What all 4x4 frames will a 67-72 truck bolt up to. I know obviously 67-72, but are there any other frames these trucks bolt up to with little or no modifications.

A couple members have use 73 and up frames. The body mounts have to be modified/moved.

a question about this, don't the 67 - 72 4x4 frames come with the tougher drivetrain anyways? like NP205 and strong axles and such?
well, i guess you would also have to think about getting a 71 or 72 for the disks... and hope you get one with power steering.

Using a newer frame does have some advantages and some disadvantages. Frame will need to be shortened a little. Use the old body mounts. If you can get a high hump you wont need much body lift. Believe the frames are a little wider in the rear of the newer trucks allowing the use of the newer Blazer tanks. You get disks with the front axle. I have pictures of all the mounts/etc if you decide to go this route. It would be easier using a 67-72 chassis, but then again I do believe there are some things about the newer frames that are better.
