differance betwx 10 and 12 bolt rear ends
I had this posted in the Engine Drivetrain but i'm not getting the answers i'm looking for. I know that when you all the all of you guys up i'm getting a moutain of correct information and i don't need to doubt it. please read over the other post and tell me what you think. thanks sswj

A ten bolt has an 8.5" ring gear and a 12 bolt has an 8.75" gear. the rest of the stuff follows with that. as far as gears it is dependent on motor and trans combos. a 6 with an auto will have lower grars than a v8 and it keeps going through the scenarios. big block small block in line 6 and auto or manual trans. the way to find out is to count the teeth on the ring gear and divide them by the number of teeth on the pinion.
