Ongoing 69 saga....

Furious......As I've mentioned, I pulled the 305 out of the 69, it was weak, and had two burned valves. Had a 350 laying around, so I slapped it in. Put about 150 miles on it, and it's got a rod knocking.

I could scream.

That's why you're supposed to rebuild the engine before you install it.

Ehh. It was a gamble. I need a daily quick, and I had the engine laying around. Slapped some gaskets on it and threw it in there. Ran for about 200 miles, now it's knocking. Main and rod, I think, from the sound of it. I'll jerk it out and put some more parts in it. Oil pump, main and rod bearings, possibly cam and lifters, depending on finances. I should probably re-ring it, but I'm poor AND stupid, so I'm fighting a losing battle here.
