got some parts together!!!!

finally i am seeing some progress and i am getting exited to start working on this truck. heres what ive got so far. DJM 3" dropped spindles, rotors, calipers, wheel bearings, pads, control arms, balljoints, bags, plate and cup kit, taillight fillers, and handle flip kit. all that im waiting for to get the front suspension and bags in are the new bushings. hopefully they will be here tomorrow so that i can get this party goin! also check out the junk yard control arms. i just got them back from the sandblaster so i threw some quick primer on them. i still gotta take the ball joints and bushings out of three of em and get them painted so i better get on it because the bushings will be here tomorrow.

and only one problem...see the DUAL 1" PORTS!!!! im gonna have to open the hole in the plate for a fitting.

What truck are you putting this stuff on?
What are the details on the brakes?
Are you still going to get that truck in your avatar?

Better paint the spindle and any other bare metal. It will rust quick!!

Yeah, what happened with the truck in the avatar?

Are you putting all the parts on the 88 CC in your sig?
If so, you are converting from 1T to 1/2T?
Will bags still give you the load capacity (1 ton) as the spring set-up?

I like the idea of what your doing, CC SWB, and was wondering if you wouldn't get a better ride with 1/2 ton suspension. Do the bags give you a better ride than the springs?

ok heres the deal. the truck in my avatar is what i hope mine to look like only white. all of these parts are going on my black 88 cc dually. it is exactly like i got it ALL STOCK!! the only reason im going with 1/2 ton suspension is so that i #1 will have lots more wheel options and #2 the rearend i have is a shortened 9" with the 5 on 5 patern. as far as the 1/2 ton holding up to the truck, i dont think it will be a problem. because the bags are 3600#ers. i think the only thing that may be an issue is the ball joints. ill keep posting as i get this going. my truck is below

On the earlier 67-72's I"ve heard that dually, 1 ton, 3/4 ton frames are taller vs. the 1/2 ton frames. Is this different w/the 73-87's? Or maybe it was just the 73-87's that were taller??? I know I heard something along those lines.

Anyone know for sure?

i dont think that there is a difference in the crossmembers. other than the little "nipple" that recieves the divet (sp) on the lower control arm mount

i know on my dually the frame is a lot taller than on the 77 3/4 ton i had
