Is $2800.00 to much???
As many know I'm wanting to sell my truck. People have inquired about it and say my asking price is much to high. I know you'll never get what you put in to it, and it has to be worth it to the buyer. Let me hear some thoughts on what it is worth and if the asking price is to much. Thanks

I don't understand either. IMO it's not too much at all, actually sounds right. I saw the cab corner pics, I'm assuming a reapair was made, not bondo, and the truck looks straight. I think your still planning on painting it? I would get a nice paintjob on it and ask 4K. The only negative thing would be that the suspension is dropped for good. IMO I don't think a lot of people like trucks that low all the time. If it was 'bagged and could be raised to a more reasonable drive height, I think that it would be sold already. I think with a paint job the right buyer will come along, love it, and give ya what you want. Just need to be patient sometimes!

I had trouble seeling my 72 LWB for 2200. It was lowered 2.5/4 with spindles and drop leafs, one piece windows, tilt, blazer tank, side marker filler, etc. 2800 might be a little too much. Texas is a weird place to sell modded stuff, most of the necks around don't think a truck should be low, but the opposite, too high to get in wothout a ladder. I eventually got it sold, but it took a while.

Yeah If It was in Cali it would probably already be sold...And yes it has new cab corners not bondo, I planned on bagging it but this is my daily driver and the roads here in abilene suck. and the funds for Airbags are slim to none. Thanks for the input!

i think your truck is sweet. being a long bed really hurts alot on resale though. i know alot of you guys may disagree but i`ve had a few of both and sold a few of both and it`s just a fact. i personally love to see a lowered long bed like yours, or special70gmc`s they rock. i had a 71 long bed that was almost mint, i mean prestine condition. i am setting it all over onto a swb frame now because no one would buy it. i was selling it for $1400 and it hardly had more than 4 or 5 small dings in the whole truck, and i had all of the front susp. redone too. anyway, i don`t think the price on your truck is out of line at all.

I think the amount of drop and the fact that it is a long bed are the two biggest reasons, along with possibly location, I don't know Texas. I personally love slammed long beds. Try not to lower your price, someone who loves these trucks as much as will all do will see it and have to have it.

Location is definately an issue. From what I hear some of the Southwesterners say, these trucks are almost a dime a dozen. You would have a much easier time in the Northeast let me tell ya. $2800 is not unreasonable considering that it looks like all your truck needs is a good paint job and some minor work.

Around here you would be lucky to get $1500.00 for it. Lots of trucks in this neck of the woods though. I figure whatever you can get for these trucks and are comfortable with is all you can ask for. One thing that may put some potential buyers off is the dirty motor. Spend a few bucks cleaning it up and it will do nothing but help. If you are in no hurry to sell it then sit on the price. Good Luck

The three most important things about a truck sale are location, location and location. I can't give them away around here. I had a hard time selling my two 72 shortbed 4x4's. Also the mods may be hurting you some. You can wait or lower your price.

2low,
Plan yourself a trip to the rust belt around April, just about the time when folks have payed off their x-mass bills and have all that tax return $$ burning in their pockets. Right now is a buyers market, (everybody shot their dough on gifts) but come spring??? Then rent a u-haul and bring back a few of those heavy axles (Dana60 fronts) from up there since they seem to have more than enough laying around since the trucks rusted away. Advertise the axles in the 4x4 Rock-Crawler websites. Come summer you'll have enough $$ to buy or build whatever you want. Just my free advice, worth what you pay for it. |

Price should be okay.
I've had people who want the price dropped because they want to change things and think I should drop the price to cover work they want done to it. Try posting on Craigslist...allows you to post in city of choice

Thanks for the input. I put it on craiglist and 45 minutes later I had some bites. Who knows maybe one of them will buy it.

My nieghbor just bought a 67 with no rust from Cal. for 2,800.00 He has a lot of cosmetic work , brake work , trans work, many odd and end parts needed. I think that I would hold on a little longer for the right buyer. The market for anything older and collectible is growing fast.
