Time for neighborhood watch.
Dont have any problems like that on my street.
Most neighbors are cool and keep a look out.
There is almost always someone awake at night outside of something.
Our problem is shootings by someone on foot or in a car.

Kids walking home from school will put the flags up or swing the doors open on the mail boxes. Never really damage them though. About a year ago someone hit mine with a bat or kicked it. I welded one up out of 1/8" thick plate, it looks like a bird house. The post is steel 2" x 2" sq. tubing w/ 1/8" wall. I painted it flat black. Its pretty strong and could take a hit. I also used 60 lbs. of concrete to set the post. Its a pretty solid unit, but could be knocked over or down if they hit it with a car or put the effort into it. I am sure whatever they use would be damaged also. Havent had someone attempt to hit it yet.

My uncle made my grandfather a mailbox "housing" out of thick diamond plate...we found a bat broken in half and no damage to the box at all, wonder how the guy's arm feels!

We need to armor our box...someone smashed it and ripped the post out of the ground, and threw it in the woods.

we bought one of those rubbermaid mail boxes, its been hit but still works fine, found half a brick laying beside our mail box once, guess I know what they used on them, somebody stole the friggen door off ours once, its removable. We had one time where about every mail box was damaged on our road, but its been a long time since anyone has hit any around here, I believe we got the cops involved and they actually caught the ones who did it.

You all might want to check local law regarding mailboxes. A few years ago a local guy got tired of having his mailbox smashed so he constructed one out of 6"triple wall oilfield pipe and concreted it about 6 foot deep. It never got vandalized but someone crashed into and it did a lot of damage to him and the car--he sued and got a pretty good chunk of money out of it.

the first day i drove my new truck to school, after school the star pitcher of our varsity baseball team hit it with a baseball just to be a dick. did $430 worth of damage on the right rear bed panel just above the trim. needless to say i whipped the truck around and was about *this* close to a ****ing out-of-body. i'm a pretty skinny guy, and he's pretty damn athletic, but he tried to get in his car and drive away, but i didnt let that happen... although no punches were thrown.

might want to try keeping a cover on your truck? one that ties around under the bottom. if they really want to **** up your car they still will, but if its just a run by like you said, they wont bother with it.

If someone at school ever messed with my truck, unless it was just to be a joke, they'd not want to know what wound up happening to their vehicle...

One kid kept throwing what was left of his lunch into the back of my truck last winter, I just let it collect until one day I felt I had enough to pack his fart can full of the food, so I put my spare to good use and crammed every last rotten apple / sandwich / juice box up his fart can, packing it in with my tire iron, I couldn't help but laugh when he tried to start his car after school :p It started, ran for about 5 seconds until it immediately stalled :p He wound up getting towed home, and getting a new muffler. I haven't had any rotten food in my box since...

yup, i don't have that problem at my school, ive been offered crazy money for my poor old hoopty. its the 4th oldest vehicle on the hill, behind a 65 chevy, a 77ish ford, and a 79 chevy. And that doesn't sound like much, but when your school is 1100 people and many of them drive.....

yeah, we've got about 2000 people here, and a whole bunch drive to school. makes for a pain in the ass considering most teens cant drive too well, always trying to show off in their ricers. and teenage girls (this is a broad generalization) cant drive worth a damn! theres one 57 black chevy stepside at our school that i just LOVE though! there are actually a couple nice muscle cars, but us classic car guys are **sadly** outnumbered by the ricers with their huge airplane sized wings and giant fart cans.

living out there on the west coast i imagine so, the "Home of the Gayblade Wing", or even better, "We Run With Rice". Here in the good ol south, not a lot of ricers at our school. A hummer H2, and a escalade, several nice newer mustangs. But not a lot of ricers

are school is rice free! we do have like 1 or 2 newer mustangs, but the majority of cars are just stock front wheel drive pos, 10 years old and newer. and alot of trucks, probally around a 70/30 split with trucks getting the 30. i have the fastest truck at school, and about the only non4X4 to boot!

A couple years back when I was in high school, I also worked at a local high end detail shop. What we would do to remove road paint (yellow or white paint resulting from freshly painted streets) is gasoline. Take a micro fiber towel and pour a small amount of the gas onto it and rub GENTLY in a horizontal motion. DO NOT LET THE GAS SAY ON THE PAINT FOR MORE THAN A COUPLE MINUTES. Have a bucket of thick soapy water close by to counteract the Ph balance of the gas. You cannot use just water! Once the “other” paint is removed, the original paint surface may look dull because you removed all the polish and wax off of it. Go over the surface with a cleaner wax, then a deep polish. Good as new..

Today at school me and another of Southern Trendz parked beside each other and we were leaving and I called him to tell him his back rim was loose, well he kept goin and bout a min later b4 we got to his house it came off the studs, and stayed inside the bed, some one at school had either tried to steal his wheels, or didn't like the truck and loosened all the lug nuts, all the wheels caps were gone and billet specialties has discontinued the wheel and he cant get caps for the anymore. The week before that soon as I got mine out of the paint booth some one keyed the front left fender, but its cool I fixed it in about a Saturday, school baught the paint clear coat and all for me. I'm about to paint it again though opened the truckin mag. and every truck has red on it, lol, so I'm goin either black or gun metal. As for our high school, its fairly small bunch of kids that want to have ricers, lol they says bags and for pussies, but they also get a shower of sparks as we drive by in the morn, lol.
