trailering the 67?

Anybody have a trailer they use to move your truck to and from the track?
I want to get a trailer for this summer, but don't know what to look for!
Any pics?
I guess a old stock car trailer would be good?

doolittle 28 foot enclosed and 18 foot big tex, what are you looking for in a trailer? i use the open trailer alot more than the enclosed, the winch is removable, i built a reciever type mount on the trailer, i can remove it and use it off the back of the truck when needed.

I run an 18 foot trailer. I have bigger trailers, lots bigger for hauling steel for fence jobs, but the 18 is handy to pull around. I just pulled it to Kansas and picked up a 1 ton a week ago. It's light enough to not affect the mileage too much when pulling it unloaded.

There's a picture of it in my signature if you click on the linky deal.

You pretty much have to winch it in an enclosed trailer, unless you are very skinny and get out the window somehow.

Gee_Emm what size trailer is that? I run a cargo trailer for my business and when I replace I would like to get one that would do dual purpose - work and for occasional car hauling. It looks like your suspension is about bottomed out on that one. Any details would be appreciated as to minimum size that would fit pickup.
Thanks
Shannon

It is a 20 ft. I would expect that a 18 foot would work. The truck was loaded way to the front, but the trailer sits almost that low empty.

My uncle has a 24 foot car trailer similar to the one pictured with the yellow hot rod on it. He paid just under 2K brand new. Older ones in the local autotrader sell for about $800-$1200 around here. He loves it and uses it all the time. It even has electric brakes which are really nice to have if you're gonna tow a car.

I have a Big Tex also, it's 8ft wide X 18ft long. Work pretty well for our trucks.
Tandem axles with tandem brakes makes a huge difference for those 'emergency' stops.
B/T has them.
I think I paid $2200.00 new for it.

If your truck is low I would get a dove tail. I have 2 sets of ramps to get up on mine. (I should have bought a dove tail.)

VTBlazer, how well would a long bed truck fit on an 18 footer? Or even better yet, how about a 132 inch wheel base truck Think a 20 footer would be better?

dtlilly, I've had my suburban on that trailer also. It used the whole trailer but it fit. Anything larger and you'd want a longer deck.

I usually have a tool box up front too. A 4x4 will usually go over it but a 2wd won't.

I was incorrect eariler, my trailer has a 16ft long deck not 18ft.

Even on the 132 inch wheel base trucks your only talking 11ft between axles.
The burb's and lwb trucks have a 127 inch wheel base, seems like an 18ft trailer should work seeing as my 16 footer hauled the burb pretty well.
