E-Brake Stuck
I have the '67 hand e-brake in my truck and since I bought the truck it has been stuck. The button engages fine but I can not pull the handle at all. Is this a common problem, if so, where is it stuck. Thanks.

Generally it is the cables that stick, the one from the handle down and the two that go into the rear drums. Freeing the cables up can be a chore but I have had good luck removing the cables, mounting them in a vise so that penetrant can be "wicked" into the cable and housing. New cables are availble, also.

It's a catastrophic success.

More than likely its stuck in the cable leaving the handle though the firewall.

rebuild it from the back brakes forward. It is a good option to have!
WD-40 might loosen the cables once you have them off the truck you can work em! If they are real bad buy new ones. There is one cable at the front that goes to the Y split and 2 cables at the back 1 for each wheel! Good luck! |
