67-72 SNB Tire Size Help Please!

Guys;

I searched for this information but couldn't find anything for my application.

I am looking for what others that have a SLAMMED 67-72 Stepside pickup are running for tire sizes. My truck is completely torn apart (frame-off) and I need to determine how big of a tire I can fit without modifying sheetmetal. My truck was lowered before the tear-down approximately 5" front/6" rear. I want to keep this look but with max rubber in the rear and average wide in the front. I don't want to run anything much wider than about 245 in the front. I was thinking something like 275/40R18 in the back on 9" wide rims with 4" backspace. In the front something like 245/45R18's on 7.5" wide rims.

Comments, opinions...pictures?!

Thanks,

Erik

I've got 275 60 x 15's with about an 8-inch drop but have 12.875-inches (327mm) between the inside of the fender and the inside of the box. My 275's are 283mm (11.125-inch) wide so you will have to measure each tire and watch your backspacing and track bar to get the maximum tire tucked into that fender. My 275's are supposed to be 10.83-inches at the widest section through the tire. They are on 8.5 inch rims. Good luck.

BTW...Welcome to the board from Kent, WA! We are doing a front end spring swap tomorrow morning in Bothell if you are out and about.
