Similar to another post, I too suddenly have no dash lights, and also no tail lights. I do have headlights, stop lights, and signal lights - front and rear.

I have checked grounds at tail lights and at the dash. Some times I can get my dome light to work and some times not.

Can the main headlight switch in the dash be the problem? - it is the only think that I have not tryed.

Have you double checked all the fuses...?

yup...everything you say is out is on the same fuse.

headlight switch definitely doesn't sound like a likely candidate to me on this one. Like they said check your fuses and then double check your grounds again. I had a problem last year where the socket in the front marker in the bumper was just a tad loose not even enough to tell really and it was causing me to have no dash lights, no tail lights, and when i turned on my turn signals all my dash lights would blink. Took me a couple weeks to figure it out but i finally figured it out. A good wirng diagram probably ain't a bad thing to have here. Look in the FAQ portion of the board and i know there are some diagrams in there. If not get a chiltons that goest from like 6-87 or whatever it is. The wiring diagram they have in there is pretty accurate for the most part and will suffice for that. That manual is usually around 14 dollars or so. Good luck

A loose bulb up front killed all your parking lights?????
Sounds liek your truck has some issues there WRMZ71. That should not happen.
If I were to guess, I'd first say fuse, then switch and then wires...onless the truck in question is an old POS like some of my rigs...then I'd go straight for the wires and look for evidence of the dope smokin old man. (Wire repairs with speaker wire and duct tape)

Well the grounds on the tail lights and dash are good, I reworked them and still no dash lights, tail lights or marker lights. I have a new painless wiring harness on and they did work after I put the wiring harness on so I know it is not the wiring.

I checked the fuses (which are now the new blade style), and they are all good.

Head lights, brake lights and signal lights are all still working.

Does anyone think I should try replacing the head light switch? It is the original one, and about the only thing I have not tried. I pulled it off today, and it looks O.K., but the spring that the metal tab that the dimmer knob controls is popping out and when you twist the dimmer knob it feels loose and worn out. Could the headlight switch cause no dash lights, tail lights, and marker lights?
