Hi there, my old truck has been destroyed in an accident, I was hit from behind, and the damage has totalled it off. It wasn't all that fancy, but a good work truck, new tires, battery, and the engine purred. My problem is the insurance want a dollar amount, and I haven't found many postings for one of the same year or comparible condition. Can any-one suggest what I should ask for.. Thanks for your help

I made a mistake its a Sierra 1500.

What kinda shape was it in before the accident? How many miles on the truck? PW/PL was it a silverado long box or short? 4x4 or 4x2? and are you asking us to help place a dollar amount on it? It also depends on where you live. To vauge of a question for a solid answer. Ive seen trucks sell from 200.00 up to 10,000.

The odometer has just turned (probably#2) not PW/PL Sierra 1500 long box 4x2, the body has somr rust, and needs paint, but the hood and doors I've replaced. WE live in Southern Alberta and yes we need to try to have a dollar amount to submit to the insurance. Thanks for your help..

I just paid 1000 for a 81 gmc short bed step side 2 wheel drive this last summer as a project truck for my son and I. It has an early corvette 327 and a new turbo 350 in it and the body is fair, the interior was completely trashed however.

does that help?

insurance gave me $2300.00 for my truck when it got rear ended and "totalled". I paid the bank $300 and kept the truck..
